Christmas Lights 2015

IMG_0368aIMG_6430IMG_0333Four more days until Christmas. How is it that it is nearly Christmas already? This year has gone by exceptionally fast and it is scary to think that 2016 is only around the corner.

In the weeks leading up to Christmas, many households around Melbourne are very much in the Christmas spirit. These households are so into the Christmas season that they are willing to spend a fortune in decorating their homes and gardens so that when nighttime comes around, their houses light up in a flashing Christmas light display. This year, there were a total of 368 homes around Melbourne that have joined the Christmas light display.

IMG_0278The Christmas / New Year season is my favorite time of the year because classes are out, it’s summer, and it is such a joyous festive season of celebration, family gatherings, good times and good food.  Perhaps the only downside is my gym has its annual shutdown period during this period, so no group fitness for two weeks (oh well – I can deal with that).

As it has always been for the last 23 years, Christmas this year will be with the family.  As per tradition, everyone in the family  makes a dish(s) that we bring along to my aunt’s place to share. Over the years, my contribution has always been dessert – this year is no exception! I am going to make a Key Lime Tart.

Great pictures. The housed around my area are not as elaborately lit up like other years. Have to travel further afield.
